Tax Compliance Officer

Job Description

Hiire is helping SBM Offshore's Tax team to support Dutch and international tax compliance, IFRS reporting, and planning for an Euronext-listed business operating across 30+ jurisdictions in the energy and blue economy sectors.

About SBM Offshore

SBM Offshore is a global leader in deepwater ocean infrastructure, delivering floating production solutions across the full asset lifecycle — design, construction, installation, and operation. With more than 8,000 professionals worldwide, the company runs a long-term, asset-backed business model combining engineering expertise, operational reliability, and selective innovation to support safe, efficient, and lower-carbon energy production. Listed on Euronext Amsterdam, with operating activities spanning Brazil, West Africa, Guyana, the US, and Europe.

Why is this role interesting

Most junior tax roles are narrow - two years filing the same return. This one isn't. You'll see Dutch corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, IFRS provisioning, and audit support across a multi-jurisdictional group. A strong platform for someone who wants to grow into international tax rather than stay purely domestic.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and file Dutch corporate income tax (Vpb) returns and VAT (BTW) returns

  • Support quarterly and annual IFRS tax provisioning for consolidated reporting

  • Research tax positions across multiple jurisdictions and document conclusions in technical memos

  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transaction reviews

  • Support tax audits — prepare documentation and respond to Belastingdienst and other authority queries under senior guidance

  • Maintain tax records, workpapers, and disclosures aligned with regulatory and audit requirements

  • Contribute to tax planning by analysing financial data and flagging optimisation opportunities

What you'll bring

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Fiscal Economics, Tax Law, Accounting, or Finance

  • Between 1 to 4 years of tax experience: Big 4, in-house corporate tax, or tax advisory

  • Working knowledge of Dutch corporate tax (Vpb) and/or VAT (BTW)

  • Comfortable translating financial data into tax positions

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both are working languages)

Nice to have

  • IFRS tax provisioning exposure

  • Transfer pricing experience

  • International / multi-jurisdictional tax exposure

  • NOB track (or intention to start)
